Battery sizing
Size storage to the customer's usage and solar so you're recommending the right capacity, not the biggest.
Solar Proof quotes home batteries with the Federal Battery Rebate, the Cheaper Home Batteries Program, built in, including its tiered STC structure. Size storage, model solar-plus-storage savings and show honest payback, so your battery quotes reflect what the customer will really pay.
The Cheaper Home Batteries Program has driven a surge in storage enquiries. This is for installers who want to quote them quickly and accurately:
Size storage to the customer's usage and solar so you're recommending the right capacity, not the biggest.
The Federal Battery Rebate and its tiered STC structure are applied within the quote, so the discount is accurate.
Model solar-plus-storage savings on the customer's real tariff and show an honest payback period.
Roll the battery quote into the same branded, compliant proposal as the solar. Proposal software →
The Cheaper Home Batteries Program reduces on a schedule until it ends in 2030, so the dollar value of a battery quote depends on the install date. Quoting software that tracks the current factor keeps your numbers honest.
Always quote on the current factor. Because the rebate reduces over time and the STC price moves, a figure that was right last quarter may be wrong today. Solar Proof applies the rebate inside the quote so you don't rely on a stale number.
What is battery proposal software?
It sizes a battery, models the savings from storing solar, applies rebates like the Federal Battery Rebate, and presents a payback figure, turning a storage design into a clear, accurate quote.
Does Solar Proof include the Federal Battery Rebate?
Yes. It applies the Cheaper Home Batteries Program rebate within proposals, including the tiered STC structure, so the discount reflects current incentives rather than a flat estimate.
How does the rebate work in 2026?
Since 1 May 2026 it's tiered: the first 14 kWh earns the full STC factor, 14–28 kWh about 60%, and 28–50 kWh about 15%. The factor steps down over time until the program ends on 31 December 2030, so value depends on install date and STC price.
Who is eligible?
Home and small-business batteries roughly 5–100 kWh paired with solar, installed by a Solar Accreditation Australia certified installer using a Clean Energy Council approved battery. STCs are created on the first 50 kWh.
