Solar Proof Product Update — May 2026

May 2026 was one of our busiest months yet for Solar Proof—our solar proposal and quoting software. This release focused on sharper proposals, more flexible finance, smarter lead tracking, and safer day-to-day tools. Below is everything that shipped in the May update, grouped by area, with a plain-English note on what each change means for your solar business.

What changed in the Solar Proof May 2026 update?

In short: a rebuilt PDF engine for cleaner proposals, custom branding and trust badges, multiple finance options per quote, manual lead assignment with signed-project conversion tracking, SLD Editor security upgrades, a free solar invoice creator, and a batch of billing and reliability fixes. Each is detailed below.

How are solar proposals and the template builder improved?

  • New PDF rendering engine — proposals are now generated by a rebuilt engine that produces sharper text, crisper charts, and pixel-consistent layouts across devices and printers. Your documents look the same every time, with no font shifts or broken layouts between draft and final.
  • Custom cover images & trust badges — brand the front page of every proposal with your own cover imagery and add accreditation badges (CEC, Clean Energy Council, manufacturer certifications, review scores) to build instant credibility. More professional, more persuasive proposals that close faster. Learn why this matters in how third-party tools improve customer trust.
  • Signed proposal emails & live preview fixes — the in-app live preview now matches the final rendered PDF exactly, and the emails customers receive when a proposal is sent or signed have been polished. No surprises between what you build and what the customer sees.
  • Publish locking — new safeguards prevent two team members from publishing the same proposal at once, avoiding clashing edits and duplicate versions. Fewer publishing errors when your team works in parallel.

What new finance options are available on a quote?

  • Multiple finance options per quote — present several payment and finance pathways side by side on a single proposal so customers can compare cash, finance, and repayment plans in one place. Offer more ways to pay without rebuilding the quote.
  • Repayment chart fixes & refreshed home-loan rates — repayment visualisations now calculate and display correctly, and home-loan rates have been updated to current figures. Accurate, trustworthy finance numbers in front of the customer. See the full range in solar charts available in Solar Proof.

How does lead and conversion tracking work now?

  • Manual lead assignment — assign incoming leads to specific sales reps so ownership is clear and follow-up doesn't slip. Every lead has a name against it. For best practice on speed-to-lead, read how lead response time affects outcomes.
  • Signed-project conversion tracking — signed projects now link back to the lead they originated from, so you can see exactly which leads, sources, and reps turn into sales. Close the loop on your pipeline and double down on what works. More on this in how to get more solar leads and win more sales.

What's new in the SLD Editor and solar tools?

  • SLD Editor upgrades & added security — the browser-based single-line diagram editor is faster and now better protected, so your diagrams stay safe and load quickly. Faster, safer compliance documents. See the browser-based SLD Editor for solar.
  • Refreshed calculators — the built-in solar calculator and STC calculator have been updated for accuracy and speed.
  • Free solar invoice creator — a new free solar invoice creator tool lets you generate professional solar invoices in minutes, no account required. One more job done without leaving Solar Proof.

What reliability and billing fixes were made?

  • Auto-cancel of incomplete card payments — abandoned or failed card payments are now cancelled automatically instead of lingering as incomplete charges. Cleaner billing records and no stuck payments.
  • Xero & site-address fixes — accounting sync to Xero and the way customer site addresses populate on documents have both been corrected. Right address, right invoice, every time.
  • SMTP checker — a new tool verifies your outgoing email (SMTP) settings so proposal and notification emails actually reach customers. Fewer email gremlins and lost notifications.

Frequently asked questions

Does Solar Proof support multiple finance options on one proposal?

Yes. As of the May 2026 update you can present multiple finance and payment options side by side on a single quote, including cash, finance, and repayment plans, with accurate repayment charts and refreshed home-loan rates.

Can I brand my solar proposals?

Yes. You can add custom cover images and accreditation trust badges to the front of every proposal, alongside the rebuilt PDF engine that keeps your branded documents rendering consistently across devices.

How do I track which leads become signed sales?

Signed projects now link back to their originating lead, so you can see conversion by lead, source, and sales rep. Combined with manual lead assignment, you get full visibility from first enquiry to signed deal.

Is there a free solar invoice tool?

Yes. Solar Proof now includes a free solar invoice creator for generating professional solar invoices quickly.
